System Proposal: Legacy Progression

Star Child

A project I worked on with my now Wife in college, Star Child is an action game about facing down universal terrors as a young star, and preventing the heat death of the universe.

Hunter Ambush ability can be placed on locations the Hunter cannot see and can be triggered by monsters moving in a space the Hunter cannot see

Repro Steps:
1. Choose a level that takes places within a building that has doors.
2. Make sure you have several hunters with the ambush ability to make the process easier.
3. Use ambush and select its location so part of the area of effect goes into a building.

Expected Result: The area won’t go through walls.

Observed Result: The area can go through walls and can enemies can trigger the ability by walking through the area.

Repro Rate: 3/3

Heroes that have died in a playthrough can be recruited in that same playthrough as long as they were put into the player’s legacy.

Repro Steps:
1. Start a game.
2. Let a character die.
3. Build a tomb for the character.
4. Go to a town and recruit a hero.
5.Recruit the hero that died.

Expected Results: The hero who had died recently would not be available to choose in the recruitment screen.
Observed Results: The hero who died recently can be recruited, but will die immediately after being recruited.
